Jason Day has bounced between playing partners each year at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Could the third time be the charm?

The big-time pairing of Day and Rickie Fowler missed the cut on the number in 2017.

Day and young countryman Ryan Ruffels finished T34 in 2018, although Day’s talent shined in helping the team to best ball rounds of 64 and 67.

Day re-injured his back before the Masters, but thanks to some alternative methods, like blowing up balloons, Day persevered for a T5 at Augusta.

That was his fifth top-10 of 2019, which also includes a T8 at the Players Championship.

Day made three of four cuts at the Zurich as an individual including T4 in 2015 and T5 in 2016.

Adam Scott is a newcomer to this event.

He comes in with great ball striking form that had him in contention at the Masters as well. If he could have made anything on the greens, Scott could have done much better than T18.

Nonetheless, it was his fourth top-20 in seven starts in 2019. Scott keeps a light schedule and plays almost exclusively stronger events. He was solo second behind Justin Rose at the Farmers Insurance Open, T7 at the Genesis Open and T12 at the Players.

These two pair well as Day is fourth in strokes gained putting and 119th in SG approach. Scott is 42nd in approach and surprisingly 14th in putting, though Masters stats do not contribute to season stats. Scott was 165th in SG putting last season.
