Wells Fargo Championship: Top 10 power rankings at Quail Hollow
Sergio Garcia and Tommy Fleetwood proved to be quite the power couple last week as the two Europeans finished solo second at the Zurich Classic.
Garcia has also been pretty solid on his own ball this year. A missed cut at the Masters is his only blemish in 2019 (not counting his infamous DQ in Saudi Arabia). Garcia has five top-10s worldwide including two on the PGA Tour.
This week’s event will be his third start in four weeks, though an MC at Augusta and a team event last week has reduced some of that workload
Garcia’s lone flaw stats wise this season is around the greens (178th strokes gained), but he’s doing enough to atone including sitting seventh in SG approach and 45th putting. Fairways can be tricky to hit at this week’s venue, but Garcia is 24th in rough proximity if he gets wayward.
At Quail Hollow, Garcia’s closest call was a T2 in 2005. He’s made 7 of 8 cuts at the Wells Fargo Championship but did MC at the 2017 PGA.
The Spaniard has won in North Carolina before at the 2012 Wyndham Championship.
