Wells Fargo Championship: Top 10 power rankings at Quail Hollow
One of the biggest surprises of the Masters was Justin Rose missing the cut. The Englishman has developed machine like consistency, so to see him drop back down to earth was a bit of a surprise.
Nonetheless, there’s reason to think that was just a blip. Rose carried two consecutive top-10s into Augusta as well as a win earlier in the year at Torrey Pines.
At Quail Hollow, Rose finished solo fifth in 2014 and solo third in 2016.
“I think it’s a championship golf course and you have to move the ball both ways off the tee, which I think suits my eye, and it’s a good-iron play golf course, which typically suits my game…” Rose said in 2014.
Rose is 11th on Tour in total strokes gained and is top-60 in all SG categories. He’s sixth in going for the green percentage, which could help him max out on these drivable par-4s and reachable par-5s.
Rose is second in proximity both from 150-175 and 175-200 yards, which are common numbers he’ll have on approach.
