Webb Simpson has home course advantage this week. He’s a Quail Hollow member and resident and has two top-five finishes at the Wells Fargo Championship.

He was the 54-hole leader en route to solo fourth in 2012 and co-led going into the weekend where he finished T2.

“I think it helps a little bit. Just knowing, you know, where to miss it for the pins we’re playing, I think that helps,” Simpson said in 2015. “I think knowing when tendencies — the wind on 7 and the wind on all the holes around the back always swirls. I think that helps, those little kind of the little things.”

Simpson most recently finished T21 (72-70-71-69) at the 2018 Wells Fargo.

The Wake Forest grad will be one of the gallery favorites.

He comes in with good form. Simpson followed up a T5 at the Masters (his best major finish since winning the 2012 US Open), with a T16 two weeks ago at the RBC Heritage.

The 2018 Ryder Cup stalwart owns five top-25s in nine starts in 2019. He won for the first time since 2013 at the 2018 Players.
