Beau Hossler – 125/1

Hossler is the ultimate definition of “drive for show, putt for dough”. There is one reason, and one reason only that I like him this week.

Putting.

If you started looking at his SG stats, you would start off disappointed, and questioning my inclusion of him in a dark horse article.

Off-the-tee: 138th (-.125 SG)

Approach: 195th (-.602 SG)

Around the green: 130th (-.053 SG)

Then there is putting. Once Hossler gets to the green, he is money. He currently ranks 36th in SG putting, at .411. It’s not just this year either. Last year, he finished an incredible 6th in that category (.685 SG).

Hossler fired off a 64 in the final round of the Byron Nelson last year. Combine his confidence at Trinity Golf, with his wonderful putting, and I like Beau to turn heads and make a strong dark horse run this week.
