Kevin Kisner – 100/1

Kevin Kisner has been playing some great golf this year. When we get to a major event, a lot of money comes in on the big names. That, added with the strength of the field means that you can find some strong value further down the list of players.

Kisner definitely qualifies as one of those valued players. Look at his stretch earlier this season. Excluding his win at the WGC-Dell Match play event, Kisner finished between 21st and 28th in seven straight matches. There are very few golfers who can put that kind of run together without a slip-up somewhere.

All of those events, besides the Waste Management to kick off the streak, were impaired by one bad round during the week by Kisner. A 74 here, a 75 there lead to him missing the opportunities that a week filled with rounds in the 60’s presented.

I like him as a dark horse for that consistency, especially at a course that plays so tough. What is going to make or break his week is his play around the greens. He is horrid in SG there this year, ranking 193rd.

Everywhere else, he is money. 36th off the tee, 40th in approach shots, and 45th in putting. If the short game is on, Kisner definitely has a legitimate shot to win this year’s PGA Championship, even if he is 100/1 to do so.
