I’m not sure if there’s a tournament that could be played right now where Rose wouldn’t be in my top 10.

Last week’s T58 in defense of his title at Colonial was disappointing, but he’s back at another course where the Englishman’s performed well.

Rose was the 2010 champ, was T2 in 2008 and solo second in 2015 when he lost in a playoff to David Lingmerth. In 12 starts at the Memorial Tournament, Rose has seven top-10s and also a T14.

He was under par all four rounds last year (71-66-69-70) en route to a T6, just three off the pace.

"“I like the golf course here,” Rose said in 2018. “It’s a second shot golf course, it suits my iron play and, yeah, it’s always a fun place to be. The crowds always come out in force to support us, so it’s a good week.”"

In 2019, the 38-year-old owns a win at Torrey Pines to go with two more top-10s against good fields at the Players (T8) and Quail Hollow (3).

Rose has played three of the last four weeks. A lot of the other big names took last week off, so proceed with caution if you don’t trust his freshness.

He’s 11th on Tour in total strokes gained thanks largely to his approach (21st) and putting (12th). He ranks second in proximity from 175-200 and is 19th in par-4 scoring average.
