Canadian Open: Top 10 power rankings at Hamilton G&CC
Webb Simpson had a lull after the anchored putter ban went into effect in 2016, but other than that he’s been one of the most consistent players of the last decade.
This shows in his recent string of events where he’s made five cuts in a row and has been top-29 or better in each of the last four.
Simpson finished tied for fifth place at the Masters, and he also has three top-10s this PGA Tour season with only one missed cut.
He’s a positive in all strokes gained categories and is 18th overall. Simpson is 11th around the green, which should keep him from losing too many unnecessary strokes with wedges and short irons in his hands.
Simpson is 12th in sand saves and has a high basement for fantasy golf owners as he’s eighth in scoring average.
He comes in rested as his last start was a T29 two weeks ago at the PGA Championship.
This is not a traditional event on Simpson’s schedule, but he will look to get some reps in at his first time at Hamilton while preparing to go for his second U.S. Open championship next week.
