How do six top-25s in the last seven majors sound? That’s the resume for the 2018 Open Champion, Francesco Molinari.

Starting with a runner-up finish at the 2017 PGA Championship, Molinari has risen to the major championship challenge time and again. He surged to win at Carnoustie, finished tied for sixth at the 2018 PGA and was right there at Augusta, until some poor shots and the Tiger Effect did him in.

The only non top-25 was a T48 this year at Bethpage.

Molinari has faded a bit in recent weeks as his last start was a T53 at Colonial, but I like him to get back on the horse after a couple weeks off.

He’s still got a win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational to lean on. Plus, Molinari’s missed just one cut all year.

He’s also tasked with relearning Pebble Beach since his one and only start here, a missed cut at the 2010 U.S. Open.

The Italian ranks 26th in scrambling and is 21st in putts per round. Somehow, it feels like he’ll find a way to contend again this week.
