It’s a little surprising to see Koepka in this week’s field, but the world No. 1 will tee it up for the third week in a row. He’s notorious for not putting his best foot forward in regular PGA Tour events, so it’s why I’ve got him in the third slot.

Koepka is certainly the best player on the property this week and can win if he puts the pedal down. The four-time major champ has good results at TPC River Highlands, going T-51 in his 2014 debut and following with a T-9 in 2016 and T-19 in 2018. His last eight rounds: 67-70-64-69, 68-69-69-65 for a combined 19-under.

He opted to hang back off the tee (292.4 yards) and had decent ball striking results of 60.71% driving accuracy and 63.89% GIR. Putting was also above average at .625 strokes gained per round.

Last year’s result was on the heels of his U.S. Open win and he’s now tasked with bouncing back from the energy drain of contending at Pebble Beach to take solo second.

Koepka was gracious in defeat and appears at peace with how he performed in his back-to-back-to-back attempt.

"“It doesn’t sting. I played great. Nothing I could do. I gave it my all. I give it my all every time and sometimes, like this week — it happened at Augusta — it’s not meant to be,” Koepka said Sunday. “I played great. I hit every shot that I wanted to. And sometimes no matter how good your good is it isn’t there.”"

Koepka’s performance at a shorter course like Pebble bodes well for TPC River Highlands. His iron play is solid regardless of approach length as he’s top-50 in proximity from any length up to 200 yards.

He ranks seventh on Tour in total strokes gained, is seventh tee to green and is above average in all categories.
