Chesson Hadley – 150/1

Chesson Hadley has only won once in his PGA career, and that came back in 2014. He won The Puerto Rico Open by two strokes over Danny Lee. Since then, he has been searching for that elusive second win. I feel that five years later, Hadley has a shot as a 150/1 dark horse to do just that.

He is coming off arguably the best week of his career, where he finished T-9th at The U.S. Open. It was easily the best finish of his career, as he had only ever made one cut in a major, which was a lowly T-61st at The PGA Championship.

However, I am a true believer in momentum, and feel like Hadley is feeling it fairly strongly right now. After shooting 68-70-70-71 at Pebble Beach, he heads to The Travelers looking to carry over that success.

Looking into his SG, he is split into two sections. The good, and the pretty bad. Let’s take a look at the good first. His approach shots slide into the top 50, where he is 49th in SG. Putting is nearly the same, as he ranks 54th. Both respectable numbers.

His pretty bad can be tough to overcome though, and might explain the troubles he has had in the past. Off the tee, he ranks 161st, with his short game ranking 159th. He loses .218 and .169 shots in those two areas, respectively.

Watch for Hadley to carry over the success he had off the tee at The U.S. Open to TPC River Highlands. He was actually 45th off the tee, and 34th on his short game. Both much better than his normal play. His putter was on fire as well, where he ranked 6th.
