Kevin Kisner snapped a streak of four tournaments outside the top 40 by posting a T15 last week at the Travelers Championship. Kis had three rounds in the 60’s in Hartford and was solid throughout the bag.

That about sums up his 2018-19 Tour season statistically. He’s a positive in all strokes gained categories except for around the green. His putter has been his best weapon at 34th SG. He may look to utilize his putter off the greens when possible on the closely mown areas.

Kisner is also 13th in driving distance and shouldn’t be taken out of this week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic tournament by his lack of length.

He was a winner at the 2019 WGC-Match Play. It’s his only top-10 of the year, but he does have nine top-30s. Kisner’s best finish at a Donald Ross course was T3 at the 2017 Tour Championship.

Kisner didn’t win in 2018 but had two runner up finishes. His last stroke play win came in 2017 at Colonial.

There aren’t a lot of players coming into the Rocket Mortgage Classic on fire, so I like the steady Kisner’s chances at jumping up and contending this week.
