Keith Mitchell – 75/1

Since his first career win back in February at The Honda Classic, Mitchell has continued to put together a decent season. Unfortunately for him, two of his three missed cuts have come at the two most recent majors in the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship.

There have been good moments for him though, as he has finished in the top 10 twice since The Honda. He finished T-6th at The Arnold Palmer, and T-8th at The Wells Fargo.

If Mitchell was a little more accurate off the tee, he would have an argument for best golfer off the tee in golf. Right now, he ranks 6th in SG in that category. His issue in tournaments is that it is his only great category.

He doesn’t rank well in any other categories. His closest is approach shots, at 89th. Putting is his bugaboo, and sits 154th.

Mitchell has occasionally putted quite well this year. As one of the most likely golfers to three-putt, and least likely golfers to one-putt, he gives away the strokes he gains off the tee quite often. As this will be everyone’s first time playing in the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club, I can see Mitchell playing more relaxed, and taking better advantage of his opportunities.
