Tread lightly as always with Brooks Koepka in non-majors. He admitted during the Travelers Championship a couple weeks ago he was tired and caught himself yawning on the golf course for the first time he can remember.

He’s been in the throes of three majors with runner-ups at the Masters and U.S. Open sandwiching his win at the PGA Championship.

He did take last week off for a little R&R with his girlfriend that produced yet another thong photo (which we’ll not be posting inline here…you’re welcome). Brooks likes to keep it interesting, that’s for sure.

Koepka has finished T50 or worse in four of his last five standard PGA Tour events (the other solo fourth at the Byron Nelson).

If Koepka can dial it up this week in what will be his final Open Championship prep, he’s got a good chance to succeed.

A soft course plays into his hands as he can carry it about as far as any. Koepka is 22nd in strokes gained off the tee and ninth tee to green. Across the board he’s in the positive in strokes gained categories and has an impressive short game when he needs to call upon it.

Koepka’s PGA win at Bethpage was on greens that were mostly bentgrass, so another good putting week could be in the cards on what should be relatively easy greens to putt.
