Dylan Frittelli – 125/1

This is Dylan Frittelli’s first full year on the PGA Tour. He has been around since 2017, but he finally gained full status for this season.

He played in two majors in 2017, and then 11 events last year, highlighted by an 11th place finish at the Honda Classic, where he shot 71-72-67-69.

This year, Frittelli has struggled to crack the top 25 through 18 events, only getting there three times. It isn’t for lack of ability though, as evidenced by his SG stats.

Frittelli actually sits fairly nice in both SG off the tee, and around the green, at 51st and 48th, respectively. He is adequate on approach shots as well, ranking 93rd.

Putting is his bugaboo. From 10′ and in he ranks 101st. 10′-15′, 15′-20′, 20′-25′, and 25’+, he ranks outside the top 100 in each as well. It isn’t that he is awful in any one area, it’s just that putting is where he struggles.

To me, that makes a perfect dark horse candidate. If his putter is feeling good this week, that should mean that his %’s from each area will improve, turning him from a bad putter, into a good, if not great putter for the week.

Frittelli plays well from everywhere else on the course. If he can feel it with the putter as well, I like him to finish in the top ten this week.
