Henrik Stenson (8,400)

Henrik started the year rather poorly. He missed his first three cuts on the European Tour. However, Stenson appeared to find some positives with his game when he arrived in the United States for the Florida swing in March.

Henrik finished 17th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March to start his Florida swing. Stenson has made nine of ten cuts (PGA Tour and European Tour events) since his quality result at the API which I think shows outstanding consistency.

Let’s take a quick look at some of Stenson’s other quality results this year. Henrik finished 24th at the Valspar Championship during March, 20th at the Byron Nelson during May, 8th at the RBC Canadian Open in June, and 4th at last week’s Scottish Open.

Now let’s take a quick look at Henrik’s previous British Open results. Stenson won the 145th edition (2016) of the Open in an epic showdown with Phil Mickelson. Additionally, Henrik finished 11th at the 2017 Open and 2nd at the 2013 Open. I think it is clear that Stenson knows to get quality results at links courses.

When I reviewed Stenson’s statistics in 2019, a few popped off the page for me. Henrik is currently 1st in strokes gained approach and 5th in driving accuracy on the PGA Tour.
