Those Yet to Win

Once we get past the top favorites, our staff’s picks spread out a little bit. In fact, we had four players each receive one vote and a second receive two votes. We broke it apart by grouping the golfers who are yet to win a major, and those who are looking for another to add to their legacy.

All of these golfers are looking for their first major. Together, their best finishes rank T-3rd, T-2nd, 2nd, 2nd, and 2nd.

Jon Rahm – +1600 (16/1)

@member4aday– Eric Sedransk’s Pick: Jon Rahm – Lock it up.

Zachary Michael Jack’s pick: Jon Rahm – He is highly motivated and in excellent form heading into olde Portrush.

Xander Schauffele – +2500 (25/1)

@jdGollihar19 – Joshua Gollihar’s Pick: Xander Schauffele – He finally quits knocking on the door by busting through it. Golf’s next superstar is born in Portrush on Sunday.

Rickie Fowler – +3300 (33/1)

Rickie Fowler has come the closest the most often out of this group. 2nd, two T-2nds, T-3rd, and four T-5ths. Less we forget his incredible 2014 run, where he finished T-5th, T-2nd, T-2nd, and T-3rd.

@CameronSalce – Cameron Salce’s Pick: Rickie Fowler  My pick for the British Open this week is Rickie Fowler to get his first major championship. Might just be wishful thinking, alas, Fowler is my pick.

Matt Kuchar – +3300 (33/1)

@kkuhrts – Kasey Kuhrts’ pick: Matt Kuchar – I like Kuchar because of his Greens and Fairways hit percentage this season, as they are both in the top 15. (His greens are 71.33%, 5th on the tour, Fairways are 69.92%, 11th on the tour) I know he isn’t one of the furthest drivers of the golf ball, but I think his ability to hit greens and fairways will outweigh that this week, and he will continue the best season of his career and win his first major at Royal Portrush.

Ian Poulter – +8000 (80/1)

@mattjcoles – Matt Coles’ Pick: Ian Poulter  I believe that Ian Poulter is going to have a good week, and hopefully the Postman can finally deliver a major.
