Looking for another Major

There were a lot more choices of players who had yet to win a major than there were players to have already won one. Part of this is that there currently are a lot of great young golfers out there who are looking for that elusive first major.

Henrik Stenson – +2800 (28/1)

Stenson won the British Open back in 2016 when it was played at Royal Troon Old Course. This is the only major that he has captured. That isn’t to say that he hasn’t come close plenty of other times. He has 13 other top-ten finishes, included in which are three top-three finishes at the British Open.

As one of the more senior members of the PGA Tour, Stenson lacks the length of the big hitters. He is 173rd in driving distance. He makes up for it with impeccable accuracy and a fantastic short game. He hits 73.12% of fairways, good for fifth on tour. He is also the best on tour at SG on approach shots, gaining an incredible 1.245 SG, which is .240 shots better than second-place Hideki Matsuyama.

@bcris4 – Ben Criswell’s Pick: Henrik Stenson  Stenson has carded four top-10 finishes in his last 10 starts including a T9 at the U.S. Open and a T4 at the Scottish Open last week. The winner of the 145th British Open is still one of the premier ball strikers on tour and is rounding into form at the perfect time. Not many scenes can rival the majestic views at Royal Portrush, but the Toptracer on Stenson’s three-wood might just steal the show.
