Eddie Pepperell 80-1

A fan favorite on the European Tour, Pepperell is the quintessential links player. He doesn’t hit it very far, but he hits it straight, and he makes a lot of putts (16th in strokes gained putting).

There are few Major Championship venues that allow a player who averages 285 off the tee to be competitive. The British Open is one them.

Pepperell has played few events on the PGA Tour, but finished T3 this year at the PLAYERS Championship, a course that demanded accuracy off the tee. The 28 year-old has played his best golf on links courses, including a T4 finish at the Irish Open this year.

The Englishman will be looking to build on a T6 finish at last year’s British Open. At 80-1, Pepperell is unlikely to take home the Claret Jug, but is certainly worth the price of +650 to finish inside the top-10.
