Tyrell Hatton 80-1

Yes, the player who flung his club into the Scottish fescue. Hatton also finished T14 at the Scottish Open after, you know, he found the club.

The Englishman has been steadily climbing the leaderboards in majors this season finishing T56 at the Masters, T48 at the PGA Championship, and T21 at the U.S. Open. Since 2016, Hatton has carded four top-10s in Major Championships including a T5 at the 2016 British Open.

Links golf seems to suit Hatton’s game as two of his three European Tour wins have come on a links course, twice a winner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

In congruence with his success on links courses, Hatton ranks 11th in strokes gained around the greens. When the wind inevitably blows, he should feel right home getting up and down to save a par.

At 80-1, Hatton is a long-shot to win, but is a good pick in tough conditions, if he manages not to lose any clubs. If he tosses another iron into the rough at Royal Portrush, he might not find it.
