Adam Scott

Adam Scott had been playing fantastic this year in majors. At the Masters he finished T-18th, shooting 69-68-72-73. Things would get better from there.

At the PGA Championship, he would get his first top ten major finish of the year, ending up T-8th. He had a spectacular day two and finished his week off with scores of 71-64-72-74.

The U.S. Open was even better, where Scott would finish T-7th. This time, he posted rounds of 70-69-71-68, his first strong Sunday finish of a major.

For good reason, people were confident in how Scott would play heading into this year’s British Open. He had a great run from 2012-2015, finishing 2nd, T-3rd, T-5th, and T-10th.

With all of the data and good play that Scott had backing him, he seemed like a sure bet to make the cut, and even make a run at his second major. Plenty of people were in his corner.

Like the two people before him on this list, Scott came out and shot a 78 as well. He could only find one birdie during his opening round, adding two doubles and four bogeys.

Friday ended up being an up-and-down round and finished at 73. Three birdies were offset by his three bogeys, and a double on 18 got him to a final score of 78-73, for 151.
