Robert MacIntyre – T6: -5

In his first full season on the European Tour, Robert MacIntyre has been one of the breakout stars and currently sits in 14th place on the European Tour’s Race to Dubai standings.

MacIntyre’s first-ever appearance at a major tournament came at this week’s British Open, wit the young Scot finishing in a tie for 6th at -5.

The 2019 season has seen MacIntyre suffer dips in his form at several points, but the left-hander has always bounced back with a good result the week after.

That run started after the second event of the season, as the Scot missed the cut at the Australian PGA Championship. A week later, he finished inside the top 15 at the South African Open hosted by the City of Johannesburg.

He missed the cut at the Trophee Hassan II in April but MacIntyre followed that up with a T2 finish at the Betfred British Masters and then a 2nd place finish at the Made In Denmark Open presented by FREJA in May.

Last week, in his home country, MacIntyre missed the cut at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, as the cut line fell at a ridiculously low score of -5. However, he backed it up this week with a T6 finish at the British Open in Portrush.

After an opening round of 68, the Scot had a slight dip in form, with a 72 and 71 on Friday and Saturday. He bounced back with a 68 on the final day, one of the best rounds on Sunday, to move back up into the top ten, in what was his first major appearance.
