Bubba Watson – 100/1

If you are a baseball fan or a fan of monster drives, then Bubba Watson is your guy. Phil Mickelson may talk about hitting bombs, but Watson is the embodiment of it.

Bubba is 2nd this year in SG off the tee, sitting slightly ahead of Dustin Johnson, and a mile behind Rory McIlroy. Bubba is still hitting it crazy far even though he is now 40, and ranks 6th on tour this year in driving distance at 311.7.

Then there is the Bubba on all other sections of the course. 140th in SG on approach. 135th in SG around the green. Then 177th SG in putting.

Why would I pick him this week? Bubba isn’t afraid of anyone. A giant tournament like this, with celebrities all around and a fantastic cause to boot, will step up Bubba’s game.

I mentioned earlier how I think that Reavie will take advantage of the short course with his great accuracy. Well, I trust Bubba to bomb away all week, trying to cut this course down to driver-wedge as often as possible.

If anything, keep an eye on Bubba. I think he makes the cut this week and continues hitting bombs all weekend. It will lead to plenty of scoring opportunities and fantastic shots from him.
