European Tour Regulars With Hopes Of FedEx St. Jude Victory
By Matt Coles
Less than 96 hours on from the incredible scenes at Royal Portrush on Sunday evening, the golfing world keeps on rolling to the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
Only 68 players will tee it up at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee this week, with a couple of big names skipping the FedEx St. Jude for different reasons.
Newly-crowned British Open champion Shane Lowry is taking the week off to recover, probably after celebrating a little bit too hard… (he is Irish after all).
Secondly, former World No.1 Tiger Woods is also skipping the event, deciding to take a few weeks off ahead of the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs.
However, there is still a stellar field ready to play in Memphis this week, including World No.1 Brooks Koepka. There are plenty of others playing at the Invitational this week who have sat at the top of the World Rankings.
Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Jason Day, Adam Scott, Rory McIlroy, and Jordan Spieth will all be at TPC Southwind for the start of the tournament on Thursday morning.
But what about the European Tour regulars who have been invited to play in the event? There is a major winner on the list, who is on his way back to his best, while the other four are looking for their first win on the PGA TOUR this week at the St. Jude Invitational.
