Thorbjorn Olesen

One of two Danes in the field this week, along with Lucas Bjerregard, Thorbjorn Olesen will be looking to grab his first win on the PGA TOUR at the St. Jude.

Olesen, who was part of the winning European Ryder Cup team at Golf National in Paris in September, won the GolfSixes with Bjerregard in 2017.

That was one of Olesen’s six victories on the European Tour, with his biggest win being the Italian Open in 2018, a Rolex Series event.

The Dane has also succeeded at the Sicilian Open, ISPS Handa Perth International and Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, along with winning the Turkish Airlines Open, part of the Race to Dubai Finals series.

He comes into this week off the back of finishing T57 at the British Open, after shooting +4 for the week at Royal Portrush, in what has not been his best year in the major tournaments.

However, Olesen will be confident coming into this year’s FedEx St. Jude, having finished in the top ten in the event for the last two years.

The Dane finished in a tie for 10th at Firestone CC in 2017, before then ending last year’s tournament inside the top three.

Olesen will begin at 12:04 pm on Thursday at Southwind, alongside Phil Mickelson and Haotong Li, as the trio tee off from the 1st hole, as he looks to grab that elusive first PGA TOUR win.
