Matt Wallace

The third Englishman on our list is Matt Wallace, a man who finished just outside the top 50 at the British Open at Portrush last week, after finishing on three-over-par.

However, prior that to that, Wallace has been in terrific form in the majors, bar the Masters where he missed the cut. In the PGA Championship in 2018, which was the last major of the season, he finished in a tie for 19th.

It became the second major of 2019, and Wallace finished in a tie for 3rd at Bethpage Black this year, before ending the U.S. Open week in a tie for 12th.

The Englishman has won three times on the European Tour, with victories at the Hero Indian Open, BMW International Open and the Made in Denmark Open. He also finished in a tie for second at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

This will be Wallace’s first appearance at the Invitational, but he has played in the other three World Golf Championships events, finishing in the top 50 in all three in the last twelve months.

The Englishman will tee it up at 11:53 am in one of the blockbuster groups of the week at St. Jude, alongside Tony Finau, who finished in the top three at Portrush, and former World No.2 Hideki Matsuyama.
