Jason Kokrak – 66/1 – 45th in FedEx Rankings

Kokrak opens the dark horse picks this week. He had a nice run during the middle of the season. Through a five-event stretch, he finished in the top ten in four of five events. T-9th, T-10th, T-47th, T-2nd, and T-7th.

All year it seems like people have been waiting for him to hop into the conversation and join the group of PGA players who earned their first win during the 2019 season. Why not in the last week of the 2018-2019 regular season?

Two years ago, Kokrak played well at the Wyndham, earning a T-16th finish. He really shined that Saturday, putting together a -7 63.

Scoring is going to be important this week, as this is another in the line of events over the last two months where very low scores are required.

Kokrak is great off the tee and incredible approaching the green, at 17th and 6th, respectively. If he could just be a zero in SG around the green and putting, he would actually rank 14th in SG, tied with Paul Casey at 1.359. Instead, he loses .412 SG combined around the green and putting, dropping him to 29th overall in SG.

He has made nice runs close to and on the green this year as he did over that five-match stretch earlier this year. Sitting inside the top 50, a strong appearance by Kokrak this weekend could get him in range of the top 30 for the finale.
