Wyndham Clark – 100/1 – 88th in FedEx Cup Rankings

How can you not pick the guy named Wyndham Clark to play well at the Wyndham Championship?

This will be his first time playing in the event, and there couldn’t be a better time to pick up your first PGA Tour win. Not only would it be a nice win, but it would also launch him up the standings, giving him a nice view of the top 30 heading into the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

A nice run for Wyndham ended at the recent John Deere, where he shot 68-71-71 and was a part of the day three cut. Before that, he had shot 11/12 rounds below 70 and finished T-15th, T-17th, and T-5th.

Whereas someone like Kokrak is great off the tee and on approach but struggles in close, Wyndham Clark is the opposite. Just on his SG around the green and putting, he registers .909 SG. The putting really stands out, as he ranks 9th overall in SG, at .664.

If this week was one where the scoring would be at a premium, I would worry about someone who struggles with approach shots. It’s not, and I think Clark takes advantage of “his own” tournament, making a great dark horse  “Wyndham wins Wyndham” story come Sunday afternoon.
