Kiradech Aphibarnrat – 125/1 – 74th in FedEx Cup Rankings

Kiradech has won plenty away from the PGA Tour, compiling five international victories. He has yet to take down that elusive first win on the PGA, and heads to the Wyndham looking for #1.

Like Clark before him, Aphibarnrat struggles on approach shots. Also like Clark, Aphibarnrat makes up for it with his putting and play around the green. Just a little behind, Kiradech ranks 18th in putting and 55th in SG around the green, still very respectable.

At the PGA Championship, he showed why he has the talent to earn that first win. He just needs to pull it together for all four rounds. After opening with a 76, he followed it up with 68-68, only to finish with a 75. His year looks pretty similar to the discrepancy at the PGA Championship.

He has made the cut in 11 of 18 events, making the top five in three of them. When everything is clicking for him, it should be no surprise to see him near the top of the leaderboard.

Just look at the recent British Open a.k.a. Open Championship as another example. 68-73-77-67. He opened with a -3 to start the event and put himself in a good place for the major. He threw it away by going +8 over the next two days. Then on a final day where only 15 people shot below par, with only 9 below 70, he cards the second-best score of the day.

Kiradech takes the final dark horse position this week. He can bring it during any round. Now, he just needs to bring it for four in a row.
