Brooks Koepka could win you more free beer in the FedEx Cup Playoffs
Brooks Koepka keeps winning big-time tournaments, and through his partnership with Michelob, his fans can enjoy a few more cold ones on the house if he can pull off some victories in the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
“I like to celebrate a win by enjoying a Michelob Ultra, and I’m pumped that now all Tennesseans can join me,” Brooks Koepka said in a statement issued by Michelob the WGC- FedEx St.Jude Invitational, where Koepka was victorious.
It’s Koepka’s second “beer win,” if you’ll pardon the phrase. Last May at the PGA Championship, all New Yorkers were offered a free beer from Michelob Ultra if Koepka defended his PGA Championship title. And of course, he did. The beer was on him, well, technically on Michelob.
He’s not done with this beer thing either. According to a spokesperson for the PR firm handling the event, there are two more chances in August for you to get a free beer on Koepka. Michelob will repeat the promotion in New Jersey for the Northern Trust at Liberty National next week and in Illinois for the BMW Championship at Medinah the following week.

As Koepka said about bringing beer to fans, “The only thing better than winning a tournament is winning a tournament and scoring beer for an entire state in the process.”
You have to give him that. He’s done it twice.
But while Koepka was scoring beer for everybody who signed up to get one, he also won his first WGC at the Fed-Ex St. Jude tournament. And that’s not all. In addition to the first place money for winning, he pulled down the top prize in the $2 million Wyndham Rewards Top 10 bonus money pool, offered to the players in the top ten places in FedEx points for 2019.
The season-long Fed-Ex points conclude this week at the Wyndham Championship, but Koepka’s spot in the Wyndham Rewards bonus pool is unassailable at this juncture. In addition, Rory McIlroy has already locked up the second place slot, earning an extra $1.5 million. Matt Kuchar is third, and his bonus is a paltry $1.2 million. Not a bad ending to a season that still has four weeks left.
Currently the rest of the Wyndham Rewards Top 10 are: Xander Schauffele, Gary Woodland, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Cantlay, Jon Rahm and Justin Rose.
However, nine golfers in the field at the Wyndham Championship can still bump out one of the seven on the list with a high finish or a victory. They are: Paul Casey, Webb Simpson, Chez Reavie, Charles Howell III, Sungjae Im, Hideki Matsuyama and Lucas Glover. The 10th place bonus money is still a cool half million, so it’s something for these guys to think about when lining up putts.
