Kind of like Tommy Fleetwood in the previous slide, Patrick Cantlay is steady Eddie always posting solid scores. The Californian has just two missed cuts in 2019 and has finished inside the top 40 all but one other time.

Cantlay recorded his second straight T-12 finish last week at the Northern Trust where he fired 70-67-70-67. Usually a strong ball striker, Cantlay relied on the putter (1.151 strokes gained putting) to get to 10-under.

Cantlay is fifth on Tour in strokes gained tee to green and second on Tour in overall strokes gained only behind Rory McIlroy. Week-to-week, he’s bested the likes of Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, and most of the PGA Tour’s other big names.

The simple fact is that Cantlay is living up to the potential we’ve always known he had, and he’s going to be a force to be reckoned with as long as he stays steady.

The former UCLA Bruin is 14th in proximity from 150-175 yards and third from 175-200.

Cantlay won back in May at the Memorial Tournament, an elevated status event. He picked up third-place finishes at the RBC Heritage and PGA Championship. In the fall, Cantlay nearly defended his title in Las Vegas.

His value to me from a DFS perspective is higher on weeks with a cut, unlike this week, but I still like rolling with Cantlay to win or place high. Look for big things out of Cantlay at the BMW Championship.
