Our anti-slow play hero gets the nod in this week’s ranking after a nice showing last week at the Northern Trust.

Koepka was 5-under through his first six holes on Sunday and threatened to make a meteoric rise up the leaderboard. The four-time major champion cooled off for a 70 and a T-30 finish.

That was enough to keep up his top spot in the FedEx Cup.

Koepka won three weeks ago at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude against a lot of the same guys he’ll see this week. The week prior, he contended at Royal Portrush for a T-4.

The former Florida State Seminole is 10th in total strokes gained and that’s with plenty of mediocre results at non-majors. We’ve discussed this discrepancy before.

He’s 16th in Strokes Gained off the tee and this seems like a course he won’t be too handcuffed on. If he gets caught in the trees, he’s still 10th in proximity from the rough.

Koepka is fourth on TOUR in approaches from 175-200 yards.

The key is getting comfortable with the putter after he lost -.371 strokes per round on the greens at the Northern Trust. Otherwise, he hit nearly three-fourths of fairways and exactly two-thirds of greens in regulation.
