Rickie Fowler – 66/1 – Starts at -2

Fowler is first on the dark horse list this week. Coming in at 66/1, he is the first available player after my cut line of 45/1.

At -2, Fowler is going to have a lot of work to do to catch Thomas. Rickie is going to look to take advantage of how he has been playing lately and pair that with how he has played at East Lake in the past.

A T-11th last week at the BMW Championship and then T-6th at the British Open highlight his strong play over two of the last three tournaments.

Last year was Rickie’s best finish at East Lake, as he ended up T-7th (-5) in 2018. He has a couple more strong finishes here in the past as well, finishing T-12th in 2015 and 8th in 2014.

His statistics in strokes gained are pretty strong as well across the board. 49th off the tee, 55th in approach shots, 54th around the green, and 19th at putting. He has shown all year that he doesn’t have any weak areas this season in his game and will be looking to capitalize on that during the final event of the year. To top it off, he is 14th in scoring average.

The public has always looked for more out of Fowler than he has been able to deliver. He will be looking to make a huge statement this week, as coming back from -8 would be his greatest accomplishment to date.
