Abraham Ancer – 80/1 – Starts at -4

Ancer jumped way up the rankings during the first round of the FedEx Cup playoffs, finishing second at THE NORTHERN TRUST. This earned him 1,200 points which you would have thought would put him on everyone’s radar.

Yet, he is still quite the dark horse, at least when it comes to public perception. He will be starting two strokes closer than Rickie Fowler, even while being longer odds.

I feel like Ancer is a great value. He is tied for 6th place in the standings, yet he is tied for the 16th best odds. Someone like Jon Rahm, who is starting in the same place as Ancer at -4, has 14/1 odds.

Ancer is looking for his first career win, which he came so close to getting just two weeks ago. He was once again in position during the Travelers Championship two months ago, but wasted rounds of -6 and -7 with a +3 round as well.

This is going to be his first time playing in the Tour Championship, as he was unable to make it past the BMW Championship last year.

Off of the tee and hitting the fairway are not the issue for Ancer, as he ranks in the top ten in both. It’s elsewhere that his issues lie, as he is statistically average in the other three SG categories.

With only six shots to makeup, Ancer will need to capitalize on his spectacular play out of the tee box to have a shot to win the FedEx Cup Playoff.
