A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier: Top 10 power rankings
Keegan Bradley’s been Mr. Consistent at A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier. The Vermont native has finished in the top 50 in all six appearances, including a personal best T-4 in 2014.
Last year netted a T-13 where he fired 65-69-67-70.
The 2011 PGA Champion is a family man now with a young son, so a family-friendly place like the Greenbrier is likely to remain on his schedule. It helps this place serves as a personal ATM, too.
“We love The Greenbrier, it’s one of our favorite places, one of our favorite stops,” Bradley said in 2018. “There is so much stuff to do. The golf is great, the people are great. I love playing here.”
Bradley is one of just a handful of world to 50 players in the field this week.
The St. John’s product finished T-2 at the 2019 Travelers Championship and advanced to the BMW Championship in the playoffs. Bradley picked up two top-10s in WGCs and was T-16 at the Players Championship.
The 33-year-old ranked 19th on Tour in SG approach and 56th off the tee. He’s been between 149th and 183rd in SG putting each year since the anchored putter ban came into play.
That’s the reason he can’t quite find the consistency his ball-striking would seem to warrant. Fortunately for him, he heats up just enough on the greens to either win (four times on the PGA Tour) or to finish runner up (seven times) and keep his card.
I like him to have a grasp of these slow, bent grass greens he’s familiar with. On a soft course, he can take dead aim and leave himself enough makeable birdie tries.
