A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier: Dark Horse Picks
The 2019-20 PGA Tour season is here. We start off this year’s dark horse picks at The Military Tribute at The Greenbrier.
This is a great time of year. Both College Football and the NFL have started, baseball playoffs are right around the corner, and a new golf season is upon us. The first event of this year’s season is A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, and I am excited to see how my dark horse picks go this year.
There were definitely some weeks last year that I would like to forget. I dropped a couple of duds, where only one or two players would make the cut, and none of them would have a good finish.
I also could have really increased your bankroll (of course, assuming you do it legally) if you listened to me during the majors. Obviously, Brooks Koepka and Tiger Woods are never going to show up on a dark horse list to win. I did have both Gary Woodland and Shane Lowry though, with Woodland at 80-1 and Lowry at 66-1.
The format is going to be the same this year. I’ll be picking five or six golfers every week who I consider a dark horse or a sleeper, with my cutoff being somewhere around 45-1 odds. If you want to know the favorites to win an event, then you can always check out our power rankings. I’m looking to bring you the long shot, the name that would surprise you if you saw them making a run over the weekend.
As we head to the Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, here are the first dark horse selections of the 2019-20 season. This week, the cutoff will be 65-1! That gives us 17 ineligible players. Here we go!
