A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier: Dark Horse Picks
Nate Lashley – 125/1
Lashley is going to be looking for a repeat of his 2019 season. He started off quite well, with a top 20 finish is four of six events. That kept him in the hunt throughout the year until the Rocket Mortgage Classic, which was Lashley’s first career PGA win.
With the change of date for A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, Lashley hasn’t had the opportunity to play here yet. The event wasn’t held last year and has been moved from one of the end of the season events to the first one of the year.
Lashley looked to be on track last year as the playoffs approached after a strong T-20 finish at the WGC St. Jude, which was a loaded field. The FedEx Cup proved to be too much pressure for him, with an MC at THE NORTHERN TRUST, and a disappointing 76 on the final day of the BMW dropped him to 69th.
He showed he can play with the big boys at the St. Jude Invitational. As the 2020 season starts off, the field at The Greenbrier is much weaker. If Lashley can bring the same game as he did to the St. Jude and the Rocket Mortgage, there is no reason not to expect our final dark horse to make a strong push for the win.
There you have it. The first dark horse group of 2019-20. I’m ready for another great season of golf and I look forward to seeing it start off at A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier.
