Among those in my top 10 this week, Glover’s about the most experienced at the Sanderson Farms Championship. The Clemson graduate is 4-for-4 in cuts made at the Country Club of Jackson and has been in the top 40 each time. A T-5 (66-69-68-70) in 2016 was his best result where he was a shot out of second.

Last year, Glover posted 68-72-67-69 to tie for 14th.

Glover has had some trouble on the greens at this course in the past, but ultimately he feels playing on this week’s surface.

“It’s an old-school southern golf course and some of the best Bermuda greens I’ve ever played,” Glover said in 2016.

The 39-year-old is one of four players in this week’s field who qualified for the 30-player Tour Championship last month.

He had to advance through the 2018 Korn Ferry Tour Finals and made the most of it with five straight top-20s to open the 2018-19 season. He had seven top-10s including T-7 at the BMW Championship in the FedEx Cup Playoffs and a high T-4 finish at the Honda Classic.

Aside from a marginal drop off in strokes gained off the tee (18th to 37th), Glover saw improvements in all strokes gained categories from 2017-18 to 2018-19. He was 37th off the tee (.337), 43rd in approach (.330), 53rd around the green (.145) and 57th putting (.164). That made him one of the Tour’s more well-rounded players and has him in position to perhaps pick up his first win since the 2011 Wells Fargo Championship.
