PGA TOUR Power Rankings: 2019 Sanderson Farms Championship
Byeong Hun An recently contended on the PGA Tour where he finished solo third at the Wyndham Championship.
The 2009 U.S. Amateur champion and 2015 BMW Championship winner on the European Tour is currently on a streak of four made cuts and seven in his last eight events. An finished T-47 last week at A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier (67-67-69-72). He didn’t look particularly sharp, but that can be expected after three weeks off.
He’s the third highest ranked player in the field as well as one of its best ball strikers. Last season, An finished 29th in strokes gained off the tee (.351), 31st in approach (.42) and seventh tee to green (1.402). He made a gigantic leap around the greens where he was first on Tour at .631 strokes gained.
An was 15th in approaches from 125-150 yards and 53rd from 150-175.
The 27-year-old product from the University of Cal-Berkeley is entering his fourth season playing predominantly on the PGA Tour, though this week is his first Sanderson Farms Championship appearance.
An has three runner-up finishes on the PGA Tour, including two in 2018. He’s immensely talented and is due to pick up his first win sooner or later. Taking advantage of a relatively weak field in Mississippi could be the formula to get it done.
