It’s a sign you’ve been in good form when a T-45 at last week’s Sanderson Farms Championship is your worst result in the last six starts. Such is the case for Brandt Snedeker who appears to be trending toward his first win of 2019.

The 38-year-old has been solid this year despite no top-threes. He’s missed just three cuts in 24 events in the calendar year and has 11 top-25s. Sneds opened the FedEx Cup Playoffs with a pair of top-10s to vault his way into the Tour Championship.

The Vanderbilt product comes to Silverado for the fourth time. He’s improved each time out, going from a T-57 in 2014 (71-71-73-72) to a T-17 in 2015 (73-69-69-67) to a T-2 in 2018 (66-65-69-74).

Snedeker was the man to beat last year before faltering down the stretch to surrender a multi-shot lead. He was beat out by Kevin Tway in a playoff that also featured Ryan Moore.

He can fall back on getting the job done on Sunday more times than not, but he’ll have to work to put that near-miss behind him.

"“I’m going to look at that one in a few years and know I gave that one away. I had that full control, hit some quality shots when I needed to,” Snedeker said in 2018. “It’s done and I didn’t do it. It’s disappointing and it sucks right now, but playing next week, so build on it and kind of take the positives from this week. I played probably 63 holes of pretty damn good golf and nine holes I wish I had back.”"
