The PGA Tour is in Sin City for its annual stop at TPC Summerlin for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
Who will Lady Luck be on the side of this week? At the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open this week in Las Vegas, it appears that big hitters will have the advantage this week.
A dry, firm and fast course as conditions are allowing for this week should bring the shorter players into the fold, but it’s still bombs away at TPC Summerlin where little rough or water makes for easy pickings.
This annually ranks as one of the PGA Tour’s easier courses. The winning score has been 20-under or lower in all but two years this century.
The Shriners tournament has been held here since 2008, so there’s a solid decade of course history lean on. That comes into play for my top 10 this week, though I wouldn’t be surprised to see a young gun come out on top.
Stats to watch include strokes gained off the tee, proximity from inside 125 yards and SG putting. The greens can be fast and undulating.
There are some big names that give the field some juice. Behind them are a lot of guys lumped together in my eyes, and it was a tricky week rounding out my 10 selections.
