As 2019 draws to a close, FanSided is accepting your story as to why you are the 2019 Fan of the Year.

A lot of the time when we think of what it means to be a fan, we are drawn to team sports. That isn’t always the case though, especially in the golf world. FanSided wants to hear your story about why you should be our 2019 fan of the year, and golf fans count too.

Everyone who watches sports is a fan of some aspect of the game. When it comes to golf, it’s definitely a little bit different.

Maybe you are a fan of golf courses in general, and you have scorecards from all 104 golf courses you have played at.

You could be a stan for the team events, rooting for the United States (or your group of choice) in all the team events, and have been to a bunch of them with the swag to prove it.

Maybe you went to Stanford, and have been a fan of their college program since a young man by the name of Eldrick played there in the early-mid 1990s.

Or you could be a fan of all left-handed golfers. Mike Weir and Bubba Watson are your guys, while Phil reigns supreme above all others.

Whatever it may be, FanSided wants to know why you should be the 2019 fan of the year. Enter into the contest with your personal story of your spirit and experiences, showing off your Fansmanship.

You may ask, “What is Fansmanship?”

Whew, good thing we are here to help you. “Fansmanship” is sort of like sportsmanship, but the fan aspect of it. You still want to show respect and good behavior, but also to show off your love of what you follow, and the positive representation of the community around it.

“Ok, I think I’m a good candidate for this… where do I enter?”

Right here. That’s where.

All you need to do it send in a 200-word essay or a two-minute video to FanSided. You can shoot your submission off to FanOfTheYear@FanSided.com. You have a couple of weeks to do it, but it needs to be submitted by midnight on October 21st. Here’s the important part.

Make sure to let FanSided know what you are a fan of, what makes you different than other fans, more passionate than the rest of the fans out there, and what makes you devoted enough to be considered for the fan of the year.

“Alright, done and done…but what do I get if I win? SHOW ME THE MONEY?”

Hold your horses. Or headcovers. Or whatever it may be to calm down. Five finalists will be selected and will receive a feature on FanSided.com, a $100 gift card to Fanatics, a $100 gift card to the FanSided swag shop, and a one-year subscription to Fubo.Tv.

Here is the biggie. When all is said and done, the Grand Prize Winner will get a much bigger prize. Come November 13th, the winner will receive a $2,500 gift certificate to StubHub. Oh yeah. It can be pricey to go and root for your favorites. With the StubHub hookup, you can be there to cheer them on throughout their glory.

All of us have a story. FanSided wants to hear yours.
