Houston Open: Top 10 power rankings at CC of Houston
Lucas Bjerregaard is reaping the fruits of his labor all the way back from his run to the WGC-Match Play semifinals in March where he took down Tiger Woods. He received special temporary status on the PGA Tour in April after breaking into the world top 50. Along with taking fourth in the match play, the Dane played well in the U.S. with a T-12 at the Honda Classic, T-30 at the Players, T-21 at the Masters, T-18 at the PGA Championship and T-16 at the Open Championship.
He was ineligible for the FedEx Cup Playoffs with this status and has spent a lot of time this fall in Europe. Overseas, Bjerregaard took T-28 at the European Masters and T-23 in his title defense at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
The 28-year-old will be able to get into a lot of PGA Tour events this season and is looking to bounce back from a missed cut last week in Las Vegas.
He’ll look to use his length to his advantage at the Houston Open where he makes his tournament debut. Bjerregaard was 12th last season in driving distance (309.9).
I like him to carve up the four par-5s at Golf Club of Houston. He’s 14th in proximity from 200-225 yards (36’8”).
