Since winning the Masters in 2017, Sergio Garcia has made more headlines for his childish behavior on the course rather than his scores.

He failed to record a top-three finish on the PGA Tour in 2018-19, was not a factor at any of the majors and failed to advance past the first FedEx Cup Playoffs event.

The 39-year-old Spaniard seems to have regained some form in his native continent here in the fall.

In three European Tour events, Garcia finished T-23 at the Omega European Masters (66-68-66-71), won the KLM Open (68-67-66-69) and took T-7 at his host Open de Espana (69-69-69-65).

He figures to play some Race to Dubai events soon on the European Tour, but he’s back to play the PGA Tour and make his CJ Cup debut.

Garcia was 30th on Tour in strokes gained off the tee (.35) and does not need to unsheath driver (147th driving accuracy) if he doesn’t want to.

Garcia was 21st in SG approach (.525) and was one of the best out of the rough (4th, 39’5″).
