WGC-HSBC Champions: Top 10 power rankings at Sheshan
This is a sleepy time of year for some players. Adam Scott is notorious for playing a light schedule, but he’s been a busy man this fall.
The Aussie has teed it up four times since the Tour Championship including three times on the PGA Tour.
He’s got some good form to show with a T-17 at the Safeway Open, a top-50 at the Safeway Open and bounced back from an opening 73 at the Zozo Championship to finish T-33.
Scott is gunning for his first worldwide win since 2016. This last season was still successful despite the lack of a trophy. The 39-year-old was third in total strokes gained (1.831) only behind studs Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay.
Scott was fourth in SG approach (.846) and had one of his best runs around the green (10th, .351) and putting (31st, .348). He can go low if the putter is rolling and was eighth in birdie average (.428).
This is the eighth trip to Sheshan. He’s been inside the top-25 five times led by a T-11 in 2012. Last year netted a T-18 (69-73-72-73).
Scott’s already made it onto the International Team for the Presidents Cup via automatic qualifying, but a win here this week would be a good sign for one of the team leaders.
