Paul Casey hasn’t finished in the top three in 11 trips to Sheshan. So why am I rolling with him this week? Because he’s done just about everything else you can do.

The Englishman has padded his wallet at the WGC-HSBC Champions over the years: 7 in 2005, T6- in ’06, T-9 in ’07, T-11 in ’08, T-6 in ’10, T-4 in ’11, T-23 in ’15, T-12 in ’16, T-11 in ’17 and T-16 in ’18.

The knock on him in his career is that he’s an all-world player who doesn’t win as much as he perhaps should. He’s bucked that trend in the last two years. Casey is a two-time defending champion at the Valspar Championship and won a few weeks back at the Porsche European Open on the European Tour.

Casey got his 2019-2020 PGA Tour season underway last week with a good showing at the Zozo Championship. He fired four rounds in the 60s to claim T-17.

The 42-year-old quietly finished 10th in total strokes gained (1.361) last season. He was ninth in SG off the tee (.614) and was eighth in approach (.706).

Casey isn’t as long as a lot of guys in my rankings this week, but he’s long enough. And he might be the most accurate at 33rd in percentage (67.68%).
