Tommy Fleetwood is trending in the right direction at the WGC-HSBC Champions. The Englishman finished T-30 in 2015, T-20 in 2017 and T-7 in 2018. He was near the top of the leaderboard with a pair of 68s to open last year.

He’s seen Sheshan a total of five times.

Fleetwood is running out of chances for his first worldwide win of the 2019 calendar year. He’s been awfully close, though. Fleetwood was second at the Open Championship, T-3 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and has seven total top-10s.

He’s also acclimated his body clock to Asian time as he teed it up in the PGA Tour’s two previous events in South Korea (T-20) and Japan (T-22). The 28-year-old has also been busy this fall on the European Tour where he accrued a pair of top-10s.

This week’s venue sets up well for Fleetwood. He was 12th last season in strokes gained off the tee (.545) and can hit it a mile.

He also was very good at saving strokes at 15th SG around the green (.329) and fourth in sand saves (63.54%).

Fleetwood’s been missing that really low round or two in the past couple weeks that have kept him from contention. He hasn’t shot over 71 in any of those eight rounds. I like him to put it together this week and vie for a win.
