A new entry onto ProGolfNow’s European Tour Power Rankings is Frenchman Benjamin Hebert, who moved into the top 15 on the Race to Dubai leaderboard after a good week in Turkey last time out.

Hebert finished in a tie for 2nd at Montgomerie Maxx Royal, as one of the five that missed out on the trophy in the playoff under the lights.

That was his third runner-up finish of the season, with all three having come as a result of losing in a playoff. The Frenchman also suffered the same fate at the Volvo China Open and the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open.

Hebert also has a top ten finish at the Maybank Championship in March and two other top 20 finishes, with one coming as recently as his home event in October, the Amundi Open de France.

This will be the Frenchman’s fourth appearance at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, having finished inside the top 35 on each of his previous three visits to Sun City.

Hebert’s best performance at the event came in 2017, when he finished in a tie for 19th, despite carding two rounds of 74 through the week.

The World No.89 might be an outside shot for the title in South Africa this week, but it is as good a week as any to lift your first European Tour title. Hebert has gone five years since his last professional win, which came on the Challenge Tour in November 2014, but he could end that drought come Sunday.
