He did not feature at the Turkish Airlines Open last week, but Matthew Fitzpatrick returns to the European Tour fold for the Nedbank this week, and he will be a contender, as he looks for his first victory of the season.

Despite not having lifted a trophy in 2019, the Englishman is still inside the top five on the Race to Dubai list, and he continues to maintain a place inside the top 25 of the Official World Golf Rankings.

‘Fitz’ does have five European Tour victories to his name, with the most recent coming at the Omega European Masters in September 2018, as he defended his title.

He has four runner-up finishes to his name this season, starting with a 2nd place finish in the season opener, the Honma Hong Kong Open presented by Amundi.

The Englishman has also registered runner-up results at the BMW International Open, Scandinavia Invitation and the Italian Open. He also has finished inside the top ten at the WGC-HSBC Champions and the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.

The man from Sheffield has featured at the Nedbank on three previous occasions, with the best result of T8 coming in 2017. He has finished inside the top 30 every time he has played in Sun City, but could this be the week he makes his move for the Race to Dubai title?
