Fantasy golf fans get another big-time Showdown contest on DraftKings this Sunday, with the finale of the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

DraftKings presents the fantasy golf community with a number of showdown contests for the final round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge! With that said, let’s take a look at my DraftKings player selections for this contest!

Before I discuss my DraftKings player picks, I want to emphasize that this article is focused on the final round showdown contest which is vastly different with regard to scoring than the traditional classic contest that DraftKings offers for golf.

For those readers that are not aware, the classic contest offered by DraftKings focuses on an entire golf tournament. In direct contrast to the classic contest, the showdown contest focuses on only one round.

If you need a refresher on scoring for the final round showdown contest, I would recommend that you review the rules on the DraftKings website.

Let’s shift our focus to my DraftKings player selections from the Nedbank Golf Challenge for the final round showdown contest!

Zander Lombard $7,700

The 24 year old South African has clearly been playing some quality golf over the last three months. Let’s take a look at a few of Lombard’s recent outstanding results. He finished 26th at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in September, seventh at the Open de Espana in October, and he finished 17th at last week’s Turkish Airlines Open.

Although his recent performances are rather relevant, what is more important for this final round showdown contest is how he is playing in the Nedbank Golf Challenge. Well, we have no concerns there. Zander will enter the final round of the Nedbank Challenge as the solo leader with a score of 11 under par.

It has to be said that Lombard’s statistics after three rounds at the Nedbank Challenge are outstanding. Through rounds at the Nedbank, Zander leads the field in strokes gained tee to green (3.38). Additionally, he is currently third in the Nedbank Golf Challenge field in strokes gained approach (1.44).

Louis Oosthuizen $10,800

There is absolutely no way I am fading this man in my final round showdown lineups. Why, you may ask? Well, Oosthuizen’s form is just too good at the Nedbank Golf Challenge for me to fade him.

Let’s quickly take a look at Louis’s most recent results at the Nedbank Challenge: third in 2018, eighth in 2017, ninth in 2016, 11th In 2015, and seventh in 2014. Clearly, that is some outstanding stuff at this tournament!

Louis will enter the final round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge in solo second place at 10 under par.

Marcus Kinhult $7,800

The winner of the 2019 British Masters enters the final round of this event with a score of eight under par. What I like the most about Kinhult is how he has played in the final rounds of golf tournaments over the last two months. In his last seven tournaments played on the European Tour, Marcus has an average final round score of 67.9!

Jason Scrivener $7,800

After going through a tough stretch of three consecutive missed cuts on the European Tour, Scrivener has played much better over the last month. He has made the cut in four consecutive events. Additionally, he has three top 26 finishes in that four event span, including a seventh place finish at the Open de Espana.

Jason enter the final round of this event with a three round score of six under par and is tied for sixth place.

Mikko Korhonen $7,700

The winner of the 2019 Volvo China Open enters the final round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge tied for sixth place with a score of six under par.

After a late withdrawal due to injury in last week’s Turkish Airlines Open, Mikko has returned to competition and frankly is playing very well as enters the final round. I also like the fact that Korhonen fired a final round 65 in his last final round played at the Portugal Masters. I think Mikko has the potential to surprise some people on Sunday and maybe win this event!

Alvaro Quiros $6,300

Yes, I know that Alvaro has not had a great year on the European Tour. However, in my opinion, he has the talent to play an outstanding final round of golf at this event Sunday.

Although it was earlier in the year, Quiros does have a few outstanding results on the European Tour in 2019. In June, he finished third at the BMW Championship and second at the Andalucia Masters.

Quiros will enter the final round of the Nedbank tied for 15th place with a score of four under par.

Additionally, you have to love Alvaro’s DraftKings price of only $6,300!
